Position Summary
As the Production Manager at CML Micro, you will play a pivotal role in leading our manufacturing team to ensure the seamless processing of customer orders. This includes maintaining compliance with ISO quality standards, optimising production processes, and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Based at our headquarters in Langford, Maldon, you will oversee daily production activities, ensuring output meets our high standards while driving efficiency and performance across the department.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
- Manage staff onboarding, conduct probation reviews, and oversee performance appraisals.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging creative problem-solving and implementing performance enhancement initiatives.
Production Planning & Coordination
- Plan and monitor production schedules to ensure adequate staffing, equipment availability, and timely order fulfillment.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional departments, including Procurement, Facilities, Health & Safety, Engineering, and Quality Assurance, to ensure alignment and efficiency.
- Leverage throughput and capacity planning to manage production flow and ensure timely shipping of orders.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Operate within CML’s Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring all company policies and ISO standards are rigorously upheld.
- Work in partnership with QA on technical and quality-related matters, maintaining CML’s reputation for exacting standards.
Data-Driven Performance Management
- Analyse and present production data using metrics such as OTTP (On-Time to Promise) and OTTR (On-Time to Request).
- Utilise Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, to create reports and presentations that inform strategic decisions.
Operational Excellence
- Monitor daily outputs and activities to identify and resolve potential bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
- Ensure all production activities are executed within defined timelines while meeting or exceeding quality expectations.
- Stay informed of industry trends and technological advancements to propose and implement innovative solutions.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a semiconductor assembly, test, or component packaging environment.
- Strong familiarity with ISO-compliant manufacturing frameworks and quality standards.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively across all organisational levels.
- Relevant qualifications in production or business management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and the ability to analyse and present complex data effectively.
Preferred
- Experience with resource planning systems such as IFS MRP or similar software.
- Familiarity with JEDEC standards for IC assembly.
- Knowledge of wafer foundry processes and semiconductor packaging technologies.
