Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM)
Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) is the global digital radio standard designed to deliver high-quality audio, data services and emergency warning functionality across existing AM and FM broadcast bands. Supporting frequencies from 150kHz to 222MHz, DRM enables broadcasters to improve spectrum efficiency, expand services and enhance listener experiences while leveraging existing infrastructure.
CML Micro has played a leading role in the development and adoption of DRM technology through the CMX918 tuner and DRM1000 receiver module. Developed to simplify implementation, the DRM1000 provides a highly integrated antenna-to-speaker solution supporting all DRM modes and codecs, as well as AM and FM broadcasts. Its compact size, low power consumption and integrated software stack help manufacturers accelerate product development and reduce system complexity.
Today, CML technologies are helping broadcasters, manufacturers and governments deploy next-generation digital radio services worldwide, supporting applications ranging from consumer receivers and automotive systems to public information networks and emergency warning platforms.
As a member of the DRM Consortium Board, CML Micro actively supports the ongoing development and global adoption of the DRM standard. Through its technical expertise, product innovation and industry collaboration, CML continues to help shape the future of digital radio broadcasting worldwide.
