The CMX994EF replaces the prior generation of direct conversion receiver ICs from CML Micro. CMX994EF has improved PowerTrade™, the ability to dynamically select power vs. performance modes to optimise operating trade-offs. The CMX994EF includes a broadband LNA with gain control followed by a high dynamic range, very high IIP2, I/Q demodulator. The receiver baseband section includes amplifiers and precise, configurable bandwidth, baseband filter stages. LO generation is provided by an integer-N PLL and a VCO negative resistance amplifier; an external LO may also be used. LO dividers are provided for flexible multiband operation. The devices operate from a single 3.3 V supply over a temperature range of –40°C to +85°C and are available in a small 40-pin VQFN (Q4) package.
The CMX994EF includes all the advanced features of the CMX994A and CMX994E including the enhanced performance mode. The CMX994EF has a better transient response on power up/down allowing faster switching on/off allowing improved power-saving capability and operation in TDMA systems, improved LNA performance at frequencies >600 MHz and reduced power consumption specifically at higher operating frequencies.
Devices are available through our Distributor Network.
| EV9942EF | This Evaluation Kit allows the user to investigate all aspects of the CMX994EF, high-performance direct conversion receiver. A common PC-based application identifies the CMX994EF version and starts an interactive GUI for configuration and control. A separate hi-res schematic is available. |
CMX994EF LNA (50 and 100 ohm mode) 2-port s-parameter file and Rx Mixer Input 1-port s-parameter file to enable linear simulations to be performed.
