CML Micro Showcases a range of next generation Defence and Satcom Semiconductor Innovations at European Microwave Week 2025, 21-26 September

18 September 2025

CML Micro, a leading developer of mixed-signal, RF, and microwave semiconductors for global communications markets, will present its latest innovations in high-performance RFICs, MMICs, and advanced microwave technologies at European Microwave Week (EuMW 2025), taking place in Utrecht, The Netherlands from 21–26 September. These technologies are designed to enable seamless and secure information exchange in mission-critical applications including aerospace, defence, critical infrastructure, and national security. The company can be found on Booth C046.

Merv Haynes, who joined CML Micro in April as Head of Compound Semiconductor Engineering, along with other key members of the engineering leadership team, will be attending the event and providing insights into the growing demand for solutions operating across L-band to V-band frequencies. These products deliver the precision and reliability required to support drone and UAV data links, tactical radios, and other spectrum management technologies used in military, emergency response, and disaster recovery scenarios.

Featured products on display will include:

  • MMA-495930-Q4 – High Linearity MMIC Power Amplifier
A high-performance GaAs HFET MMIC amplifier covering 4.9 to 5.9GHz delivering robust output power and high linearity. It is ideally suited to radar, satellite, and communications applications requiring reliable broadband amplification.

  • MGA-445940-02 – Hybrid GaN Power Amplifier
A high-reliability GaN-PA optimized for 4.4 to 5.9GHz, offering output power of 10W, perfect for mission-critical radios and defence communication systems.

  • CMX90A007/CMX90A009 – High-Efficiency Power Amplifiers
Compact, high-efficiency power amplifiers designed for mission-critical systems, with output power up to +40 dBm and efficiency exceeding 60%, covering 136 to 1GHz , suitable for tactical radios, UAV data links, and secure communication networks.

“Defence and satellite operators are moving at an unprecedented pace, demanding even higher performance in compact, efficient semiconductor solutions,” said Merv Haynes, Head of Compound Semiconductor Engineering at CML Micro. “At this year’s EuMW, we’re showcasing products that address these challenges today, whilst laying the groundwork to support the next generation of technologies, particularly as UAVs and other advanced platforms increasingly rely on high-performance RF and microwave systems.”

The company’s impressive product portfolio, which includes GaAs and GaN-on-SiC MMICs, GaN hybrid amplifiers, and other discrete GaAs FETs, is available through a global network of trusted distribution partners.

The majority of CML Micro’s products are designed and tested in the UK, enabling seamless integration into defence, disaster recovery, and critical communications platforms as part of end-to-end solutions. By maintaining domestic design and production capabilities, CML Micro supports initiatives to strengthen sovereign supply chains, ensuring that key semiconductor technologies are developed, tested, and supplied within the UK.
